Sterile Eye / Nasal Drops

Composition:

Each ml of Aristocrom Drops contains:

Sodium Cromoglicate 20.0 mg.

Actions:

Sodium Cromoglycate is used for the prevention of allergic reactions. It is believed to act primarily by preventing release of mediators of inflammation from sensitized mast cells through stabilization of mast-cell membranes.

Indications:

Aristocrom Drops is used in the allergic conditions of the eye including acute and chronic allergic conjunctivitis and vernal keratoconjunctivitis.

It is also used in the prophylaxis and treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. Prophylactic treatment for seasonal allergic rhinitis should begin 2 to 3 weeks before exposure to the offending allergen and should continue throughout the season.

Side-effects:

Mild throat irritation, coughing, & transient bronchospasm with a marked fall in pulmonary functions has been reported. In such cases treatment should be stopped and should not be re-introduced.

Contraindications:

Transient burning and stinging has occasionally been reported following use of Sodium Cromoglycate eye drops.

Drug interaction:

Sodium Cromoglicate has no known drug interaction.

Warnings:

As with other ophthalmic solutions containing Benzalkonium Chloride, soft contact lenses should not be worn during the treatment period.

Dosage & Administration:

As Eye Drops:

For Child and Adult: 1 to 2 drops into each eye four to six times daily.

As Nasal Drops:

For Child and Adult: 1 drop to each nostril 4-6 times daily.

Use in pregnancy & lactation:

Cumulative experience with Sodium chromoglicate suggests that it has no adverse effects on fetal development. The amount of chromoglicate absorbed by a breast-feed infant can be assumed to be negligible. 

Additional Information:

• Close the bottle immediately after use.

• Do not use more than one month after first opening.

• Store at room temperature.

• Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.

• To be dispensed only by or on the prescription of a registered physician.
