Description:
Zinc Sulphate
Monohydrate is a source of zinc which is an essential trace
element required for human nutrition and involved in a number of
body enzyme system. It stimulates the activity of approximately
200 enzymes that helps in different biochemical reactions in the
body. Thus it supports a healthy immune system and helps in
wound healing. Zinc deficiency mainly occurs in-patient during
diarrhoea as excessive amount zinc losses through faeces. Zinc
supplementation during diarrhoea strengths the immune system and
helps the patient to recover faster. It reduces the duration
& severity of diarrhoea & also reduces the chance of
further attack by diarrhoea & reduces the lower respiratory
tract infection in the subsequent months. Moreover, zinc
supplementation as an adjuvant to standard antimicrobial
treatment in children with pneumonia reduces the duration of
pneumonia as well as hospital stay time. Most important all
these findings have been clinically tested in Bangladesh by
ICDDR,B and now has been recognized internationally.
