ERDON Gel

Diclofenac Di-ethyl Ammonium Salt

Description:

Erdon Gel is an anti-inflammatory analgesic preparation designed for external use. The white creamy, non greasy preparation can easily be rubbed into the skin and its aqueous alcoholic base exerts a soothing and cooling effect on the skin. When applied locally the active substance penetrates the skin, accumulates in the underlying tissue and combats both acute and chronic inflammatory reactions.

The anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of Erdon gel elicits a clinical response characterized by a marked decrease in inflammatory swelling of traumatic or rheumatic origin. Erdon gel also affords effective relief from tenderness and pain on movement. 

Composition:

Each gram gel contains Diclofenac Di-ethyl Ammonium Salt equivalent to Di-ethyl Ammonium Salt equivalent to Diclofenac Sodium BP 10 mg.

Indications:

For the local treatment of arthrosis, periarthopathy, osteoarthrosis of peripheral joints and of the vertebral column, localized forms of softtissue rheumatism syndrome (e.g. tendovaginitis, bursitis, tendinitis) traumatic inflammation of the tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints (e.g. contusions, sprains and strains).

Dosage & application:

Depending on the size of the area to be treated, 2-4 g of Erdon gel should be applied to the skin 3-4 times daily. To the affected area Gel should be rubbed in lightly. Erdon gel may also be given in addition to further treatment with other dosage forms of Diclofenac.

Side-effects:

Erdon gel is usually well tolerated. Local irritation, reddening of the skin, skin rash may occasionally occur. When Erdon gel is applied to a relatively large area of the skin over a prolonged period the possibility of systemic side effects can not be completely excluded.   

Contraindications:

Erdon gel should not be used to patients hypersensitive to Diclofenac or to the gel base, to Acetyl Salicylic Acid or to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents. In view of insufficient clinical data, Erdon gel should not be used under occlusive, airtight dressings. 

Drug Interactions:

No drug interactions during treatment with Erdon gel have been reported.

Storage:

  • Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light.

  • Keep out of the reach of the children.

Packing:

Tube containing 10 g Gel.
