Biltex 20 mg Tablet, a preparation of Bilastine, which is a novel second-generation antihistamine that selectively targets the histamine H₁ receptor and demonstrates excellent efficacy in the treatment of Allergic Rhinitis and Urticaria. Biltex is truly non-sedative and ensures faster and long-lasting action.
Bitex Tablet: Each tablet contains astine INN 20 rng.
Bilastine is the symptomatic relief of Allergic Rhinitis, Rhinoconjunctivitis and Urticaria (pruritus and hives).
Adults & adolescents ( 12 years of age and over): 20 mg Tablet once daily without food
Bilastine is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Bilastine or any other ingrediant in the formulation or componant
Co-administration of Bilastine and P-glycoprotein inhbtors (e.g.: Ketoconazole, Erythromycin, Cyeosporine, Ritonavir or Diltiazem) should be avoided in patients with moderate or severe renal impairment.
The most commmon side effects of Bilastine include headache, dizziness and fatigue.
Concomitant Intake of Bilastine and Ketoconazole, Erythromycin or Diltiazem increased Cmax of Bilastine. The psychomotor performance after concomitant intake of alcohol and Bilastine was similar to that observed after the intake of alcohol and placebo. Concomitant intake of Bilastine and Lorazepam 3 mg for 8 days did not potentate depressant CNS effects of Lorazepam.
• Use In Pregnancy and Lactation: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Bilastine should be avoided during pregnancy or advised by a physician.
• Geriatrics: No dose adjustment are necessary in patients over 65 years.
• Pediatrics: The safety and efficacy of Bilastine in children under 2 years of age have not been established.
