Clinex Plus Gel is a topical gel, which is a combination of Clindamycin and Tretinoin. Clindamycin is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis.
Clinex Plus Gel is a topical gel, which is a combination of Clindamycin and Tretinoin. Clindamycin is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. It has been found effective against Propionibacterium acnes. Tretinoin is a retinoid that has been shown to reduce microcomedo formation. It also reduces the cohesiveness and increases the turnover of follicular epithelial cells, causing extrusion of the comedones
Clinex Plus Gel: Each gram gel contains Clindamycin Phosphate USP 12 mg and Tretinoin USP 0.25 mg.
Clinex Plus Gel is indicated for the topical treatment of acne
Apply thin film to clean, dry face once daily at bedtime.
Directions of use:
Wash the face gently with a soap and warm water & dry the face.
Apply the gel smoothly with finger tips.
Use soap as recommended by the physician.
Patients who have hypersensitivity to Clindamycin and Tretinoin, history of regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis or antibiotic-associated colitis.
Erythema, itching, burning, nasopharyngitis, throat pain, dry skin, cough, sinusitis, diarrhea & colitis may occur.
Clindamycin & Tretinoin should be used with caution in patients receiving neuromuscular agents, erythromycin, tetracyclines, quinolone and other topical products (eg. Alcohol, drying agent).
Use in pregnancy: There are no well-controlled trials in pregnant women treated with Clindamycin and Tretinoin gel. It should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Lactating mother: It is not known whether Clindamycin and/or Tretinoin are excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercised when Clindamycin and Tretinoin gel is administered to a nursing woman.
